The Day The Music Died.
ryantpadgett:

Heres my final for project three, its not amazing but with the time frame its the best I can give! I’ve basically done a take on how ridiculous some of todays music is, by including the text ‘The Day the Music Died’ I’m pretty much saying that the era of meaningful music is over, its dead. The cassette tape represents the 70’s/80’s/90’s and the tape thats pulled out represents the end of life of cassettes and meaningful music! (just to note, I actually used a real cassette and pulled the tape out of it for the effect)

DANCE THIS MESS AROUND

AIM:To produce a visual review of a dance track in the format of a t-shirt
You are required to produce your review “text” in the format of one word or a short statement (positive or negative) and then illustrate this word or statement. The image and text are to be included in a single design in any size or colour on the front of the t-shirt

This project really excited me, the idea of combining all of what we have done into one t-shirt design, using copywriting and imagery, the project really was limitless. A short project that lasted only a couple of weeks allowed me to make some quick decisions and keep research to a minimum, which is another good thing as I could focus more on creating the finished piece. I am really proud of my final outcome, using an old 90’s cassette tape, I pulled out the tape to spell the phrase ‘the day the music died’ A metaphore in itself by showing the cassette tape is no longer usable and music cannot be played on it anymore. The phrase came from the Don McLean song ‘American Pie’
